REVIEW Jávea Historical Walk 2026

"It was a wonderful morning walking around the beautiful old town of Jávea and learning about its history and its people. I learned that in Jávea, you have something of a microcosm of the history of Spain. It was a popular coast for the ancient Greeks, who established the watchtower-settlement of Hemeroskopeion here; it was then occupied by the Moors, with their genius for agriculture; and it survived Napoleon and the horrors of the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s. Karla’s tour showed us how each of these phases of history plays out in the buildings and architecture of the old town. Best of all for me was hearing about the people who have lived over the centuries in the old town, and the stories of their bravery, resilience, and defiance."
